ERLANGEN - Für Erlangens »Sportbürgermeister« Gerd Lohwasser war das Turnier die für Erlangen zweitwichtigste Sportveranstaltung nach der Fußballweltmeisterschaft in Südafrika: Der Soccer-Cup des Siemens-Unternehmensbereichs Energie, der »Division Energy«.

»We are Energy!« lautete das Motto des Fußballturniers, das mehr Mannschaften aus aller Welt zusammenführte als die WM in Südafrika: 40 Teams, von China bis Lateinamerika, spielten drei Tage lang den Siemens-internen Cup aus, und nach dem Endspiel am frühen Sonntagabend stand der tschechische Standort Brünn als sportlicher Sieger fest (Bericht folgt).

Gewinner war aber auch der Teamgeist des Unternehmensbereichs, der erst in den letzten Jahren neu zusammengesetzt worden ist - der Chef der Energy-Division Ralf Guntermann und Bayerns Innenminister Joachim Herrmann konnten diesem sportlich begleiteten Prozess der »Identitätsfindung« einiges abgewinnen.

Da passte es ziemlich gut dazu, dass ausgerechnet ein führender Belegschaftsvertreter auch den Unparteiischen gab: Hans-Jürgen Hartung, Erlanger Betriebsratschef von Energy und Mitglied im Vorstand, pfiff das Endspiel souverän - kein Wunder bei der Profi-Karriere des gelernten Schiedsrichters Hartung.

Für die Spieler aus 40 Nationen war das Turnier ein einziges Fest: Auf dem Sportplatz wurde nicht nur gespielt, sondern auch gelebt - in Zelten.

erst einmal Danke und ein riesen Lob für das Organisationskomitee vom "We are ENERGY! Soccer Cup" Ein MEGA Event…hat super Spaß gemacht! Nach dem frühen Aus von Fortuna Smart Grid 04 habe dann am Samstag noch mal bei den Kanadiern mitgespielt, da ich ja im August für drei Monate rüber gehen werde. 
Kannst du mir auch eine CD/DVD vom Turnier zuschicken? Oder habt ihr ein Laufwerk mit den Fotos auf das ich zugreifen könnte?

--> Ich muss auf dem nächsten EA Communication Meeting wieder etwas zum Turnier erzählen und brauche natürlich "schöne Impressionen".

Congratulations on a super-great job with the soccer cup!!! 
The reports I got from the Swedish team when coming back were extremely positive. They had a great time and made a lot of new acquaintances - which of course is the whole idea with an event like this.

Plus, other employees who weren't in the team have also felt part of the event, I believe much thanks to the local qualifiers which got a lot of attention here, but also being able to follow the preparations of the global tournament and watching the different team videos on the intranet and so on have made a big difference. It's all those little things that makes an event like this so successful.
Good luck with the "aftermath" and have a great summer!

On behalf of the Charlotte soccer team, I would like to take this opportunity to extend our gratitude and congratulate you and the Energy group in Erlangen for your enormously successful undertaking.  The 2010 Energy Cup was extremely well organized and well thought-out as was evident by bringing together 40 Siemens Energy teams from 24 countries to participate in the largest teambuilding event ever sponsored by Siemens Energy.
Throughout the course of the Energy Cup, there was a prominent sense of teambuilding that fostered togetherness on each individual team level, however by the time the tournament finished with the final game and after the events that followed during the last night in Erlangen, a sense of a larger team ensued.  The Energy team.  We feel that the Energy Cup has given us all a larger, broader perspective of our Energy group and provided us greater insight on the larger team.  A hard reminder that we are all Energy. 
Such an event allowed many teams to meet other colleagues from sites they typically interact with, in Charlotte's case, we were able to meet people from the Erfurt, Mulheim, and Orlando sites. The Charlotte team has also continued to stay in contact with newly befriended colleagues from other sites and are looking forward to the possibility of future teambuilding events and opportunities.  We feel maintaining such communications fulfills the intent of the Energy Cup.  The Charlotte team members are honored and proud to have participated in the 2010 Energy Cup and highly anticipate future Energy Cups!
Again, the Charlotte team thanks you for hard work and extends our appreciation for such an event. Please communicate our gratitude to your co-workers.

The We are Energy Soccer Cup was truly a special event.  The Siemens staff organizing the event did a fantastic job of making it a safe, fun and enjoyable event to attend.  I would like to thank the entire organizing staff along with the management staff that made this event possible.
It was a great experience playing with teams that spoke 4 other languages.  I enjoyed meeting other players from around the word and playing against some very high level of talent.
The event was successful in creating a global community of soccer (football) fans, Siemens Energy employees, and friends.  I hope this event is carried forward in the future as it should be a flagship event for the Siemens Energy company.

Wie geht’s dir?  I need a picture of you with the grey shirt from the last night, please….

I asked the team to give me feedback and there was a lot of information coming and going so I asked them to summarize their experience in the following questions:

•  What were your surprises?

•  What can be improved?

•  What was great?

Here is a short summary of how "us" the Springfield team felt about the event:

What were your surprises?

•  We all agree on being surprised with how well organized, and how well the entire event was run and with all of the amenities provided to us:  the beer, the delicious food, and the massages at the end of the games, as well as the other activities around the campus.

•  We were also surprised of how cold it got at night.

•   A couple of the guys were surprised to find that people over Europe tend to drink more carbonated water than just regular water.

What would you improve?

•  The biggest improvement would be changing the cots by others stronger and more comfortable.  We broke at least 4 and are not the typical "big fat American" boys by any means.

•  It would have been nice thicker, warmer sleeping bags

•  The initial warm up instruction of the first day could have been a little better coordinated.

What was great?

•  Watching the world cup games at the end of the day in the big screens and with the people we played against was great.

•  It was a great the team building and comradely experience, and helped us get involved in the company and meet our fellow workers, as well as some other Siemens employees from around the world.

•  It was an experience of a lifetime. We would have to say the collaboration of all cultures that got together for an event like this was amazing. Everyone was friendly and seemed to have a lot of pride for who they worked for. All the events were geared to bring people together to have fun. The beer was great too!!!!

•  We all, without exception, think the coordinators and everyone that worked the event did a super job. The organizers and all the ambassadors were great, you guys went out of your way to make us welcome.

•   The people we met.  We enjoyed the time outside the matches talking with other Siemens Energy personnel and getting to know what they do on and off the job.

•  The competition and friendship.

•  The excellent games to watch live.

•  The opening and closing celebrations.

•  Again the food, yes… it was more great that a surprise really.

•  Everything was absolutely wonderful.

•  Germany, and its cities were great.

•  Again, the massage tent.  Not only was a surprise but was also a great idea. 
Overall, the event was a success and should be repeated in future years.  Can’t be just a one time event.

leider habe ich es erst heute Morgen geschafft das Video in voller Länge mal anzuschauen. Ich bin im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes überwältigt. Der Film ist grandios! Besser geht es nicht, die Stimmung in dieser Kürze rüber zu bringen. Großes Lob an den Mann, der diesen Film gedreht und zusammengeschnitten hat.  

Danke auch noch einmal für die herausragend gute Zusammenarbeit. Ich denke es ist wirklich eine Auszeichnung für uns alle, dieses zeitintensive Projekt vom Start bis zum Schluss immer in bester Stimmung planen und durchführen zu dürfen.  

Zumindest in allen Besprechungen haben wir Euch gut gelaunt und voller Vorfreude erlebt. Erfahrungsgemäß liegen bei Großprojekten schon vor Beginn die Nerven blank. So war es für uns ein leichtes, die bereits vorhandene gute Stimmung der Veranstalter auf die Teilnehmer zu übertragen.  

Danke auch für das Vertrauen in unsere Arbeit. Wie heißt es bei Ebay so schön: "Jederzeit mit Euch zusammen wieder!"
